Heat that works from the inside
An infrared sauna uses infrared light to heat your body directly, rather than heating the air around you like traditional saunas.
- Detoxification. Sweating in an infrared sauna helps flush out toxins from your body.
- Improved circulation. The heat increases blood flow, which can aid in muscle recovery and reduce inflammation.
- Relaxation. Infrared saunas promote deep relaxation, reducing stress and anxiety.
- Skin health. The increased circulation can improve skin tone and help with conditions like acne and eczema.

Recover faster, train better
Compression therapy involves wearing specially designed sleeves that apply controlled pressure to your limbs, promoting blood flow and aiding in recovery.
- Enhanced recovery. It speeds up muscle recovery by improving circulation and reducing swelling and soreness.
- Reduced muscle fatigue. Regular use can decrease muscle fatigue, allowing for better performance in workouts.
- Injury prevention. By promoting healthy circulation, compression therapy can help prevent injuries related to poor blood flow or overuse.
- Relaxation. The gentle pressure provides a soothing effect, helping you relax and unwind.

mscosteopathy.com.auInfrared sauna questions
What is an infrared sauna?
An infrared sauna uses infrared panels to warm your body directly instead of heating the air. The room runs cooler than a traditional sauna, usually around 45 to 60°C rather than 80 to 100°C, so most people find it easier to stay in longer.
What are the benefits of an infrared sauna?
People use it to relax, to ease muscle soreness after training, and for heat through stiff joints. Studies of regular sauna use have linked it with lower blood pressure and better heart health, though most of that research is on traditional saunas.
How long should I stay in an infrared sauna?
Start with 15 to 20 minutes and build up to 30 to 45 minutes as you get used to it. Get out straight away if you feel dizzy or unwell.
How often should I use it?
Two to four sessions a week suits most people. Drink water before and after each session.
Should I use the sauna before or after training?
After. Heat before training can leave you flat and dehydrated. After training, it helps you relax and recover.
Who should check with a doctor first?
Anyone who is pregnant, has a heart condition, takes blood pressure medication, or has recently been unwell should check with their GP before using a sauna.
Do I need to be an ANT member to use the sauna?
No. Recovery at ANT is open to everyone. ANT members get discounted rates.
